Where did this false idea that Precure 5 and GoGo are upscales come from? I hear this a lot, but every single transport stream and 720p/1080p encode from TV sources that I've seen of them has definitely been native HD.

b) PreCure always has very high ratings for anime, so it deserves its HD production costs.
I'd never have been able to tell it was an upscale, if that indeed is true since this looked absolutely delicious.
ReplyDeleteHey Dmon, I remember reading somewhere that you really liked Heartcatch, is that true? And if so may I have your thoughts? I'm trying to watch it but something about it keeps making me twitch. I'm loving Suite and Smile so far, even liked this episode.
HeartCatch is miles above any other PreCure series in my book. The story unfolds perfectly, the battles are absolutely gorgeous, and the plucky enemies become a real danger by the second half of the show.
DeleteI guess that means I should just stick it out because I guess my biggest problem right now is that the enemies seem to be throwing temper tantrums. Er, the monsters I mean. Thank you!

In relation to the YPC5 poll question...
I will eventually be editing Aesir's subs for 21-26 to be consistent with the Arienai/Eggplant/PCSS subs for the rest of the series. But if you want to do that yourself before I get around to it, feel free to.

Far from minding, I encourage you to use them. Though I do recommend using the TV versions of the OP/ED kara, since those are timed to sync up with the in-video kanji/kana lyrics. (The DVD-rips use creditless OP/ED, so the kara's more aligned with the audio.) I just need to see if I can track down a TV-timed version of the ED2 kara. There's a TV version of the OP/ED1 kara and various other scripts here. The ones for the early eps are from other groups or rough transcriptions, though.
DeleteI've also been working on extracting the scripts from 1-20 and fixing up Arienai's errors. So if you have raws and want to do softsubbed 720p versions of those eps, subs will be available at some point.
Sadly, I don't have raws for episode 01-20. It was really hard getting 23-final. I still owe 4 innocent souls for 21 and 22.
