UQ Holder! (Series rating: 6/10)

Konoe Touta is your average high school boy. He spends his days dreaming about his teacher, Ms. Yukihime. In reality, Yukihime is Evangeline Athanasia Kitty McDowell, from Negmia. And Touta is a relative of Negi. Yup, it’s a sequel to Negima. Negima had an abrupt ending in the manga, mostly because of executives not minding their own business. So here’s UQ Holder to try and made sense of it all. And does it? Well, no. The anime does not. The manga might, later. The anime does not. At least it’s pretty.

Release The Spyce (Series rating: 7/10)

Minamoto Momo lives a quiet, uneventful life. One day she sees what she wasn’t supposed to see: the secret Tsukikage organization fighting against the minions of Moryo, a group bent on world domination through drugs. It turns out that Momo has what it takes to join the ninjas of Tsukikage, so she becomes their new recruit. By tasting a particular spice, the members of Tsukikage gain superhuman abilities that help them fight to protect the city.
A cute little “spy” show, it’s more of a slice-of-ninja-life then anything action oriented, though it does have some cool action scenes. The gimmick of them getting powers from spices is, sadly, kind of pointless. It doesn’t really matter where they get their powers in my opinion. They could have just as well had nano-machines (son). Still an enjoyable watch. The intermissions are picture dramas. They are not translated though. Long enough to be 2 more episodes, actually. Hope you enjoy.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202 (Series rating: 8/10)

Here's something you did't see coming. Not much to say about this, I have no clever lines about the show, since this is the sequel to 2199. You should watch both. Set three years after the last season (duh... 2202 - 2199 = 3), the Yamato has an ever worse enemy to fight against. So bad that even the former enemies will have to give a hand in saving the universe this time. But it must be done, since it's the will of the Goddess Teresa.Really good stuff. And really good animation. I can't remember if I encoded 2199 though... I'll get back to you on that. Subtitles are by Central Anime, just restyled a little.

B - The Beginning (Series rating: 7/1)

In the archipelagic nation of Cremona, there is a killer that has been eluding the police for a long time: Killer B. Truth be told, he’s not THAT high up the priority list because he only kills other killers. Still, veteran detecive Keith thinks that it’s much too dangerous to leave someone like that free, since he could start killing innocents at any time. Aided (not by his choice) but spunky but clever Lily, he tries to tack down this mysterious killer. Little does he know he’s about to stumble into a plot about cloning, super-humans, an ancient race, and will have to come to terms with the brutal killing of his sister.
A Netfilx original, for REAL this time. That tried to be more then it should have been. It had great animation, but the two stories (hard boiled detective story and sci-fy mutant action) did not mesh very well. Honestly, I enjoyed the detective part way more. The characters make the show. Keith is basically Sherlock Holmes, but more bitter (so basically Cumberbatch Holmes), while Lily was my favorite boll of spunk. While the main character IS Kokuu (the winged boy), he’s kind of boring. Still, I enjoyed the show and it DID get renewed for a second season.
Subs by Netflix, duh. Contains both 5.1 and 2.0 audio.

Hisone & Masotan (Series rating: 8/10)

Amakasu Hisone is an extremely blunt young woman. As such, she’s very quick to offend or upset someone without even meaning to. She doesn’t really know what she wants to do in life, so she joins the Air Self-Defence force. But the plane she is training to pilot is not really a plane. It’s a dragon. And you get in the “pilot seat” by having the dragon swallow you. It will spit you out later.
Okada Mari is back with her own series this time. It’s actually pretty damn well written. The story is pretty original, and I think this is the first vore anime I’ve ever seen. The characters are pretty interesting, Masotan is absolutely adorable and as expected of Okada, there’s plenty of personal drama. Not much angst, which I was happy for. Give it a try. Zombie Land SAGA (Series rating: 9/10)

Minamoto Sakura is just a typical high school girl. She has a dream. She wants to be an idol. One day, as she was getting ready for school, she gets hit by Truck-kun. Instead of being transported to another world, she just dies. Or so she thought. She wakes up in a creepy house some time later, where she is attacked by zombies. Turns out she’s a zombie too. Her and six other famous girls were resurrected as zombies in order to create the best idol group in the world.
We’ve had regular idols, we’ve had mecha idols, we’ve had space idols. Not it’s time for dead idols. Follow out seven girls and their insane necromancer of a manager as they try to become famous.
This show was great. Great characters, great humor, Miyano Mamoru hamming it up like pork’s going to be illegal starting the next day, and some REALLY sweet episodes, and you have one of the best idol anime ever made. Seriously, the ending to the Lilly episode made me tear up a little.

Uchi No Maid Ga Uzasugiru! (Series rating: 9/10)

Kamoi Tsubame, former aircraft pilot of the JSDF, is looking for a job. But not just any job. What she wants most in the world is to take care of a young, white, little girl who has not started menstruating yet. And wouldn’t you know it? A job like that almost literally falls in her lap. Takanashi Misha has started acting out after the death of her mother. She’s scared off every single babysitter her father has hired. Pulling pranks, burning laundry, you name it, she’s done it. A former soldier will not be so easy to chase away though, especially one who was instantly smitten by the young girl and who is skilled in… everything. To put it simply, not even God Himself could keep Tsubame away from Misha, but that won’t stop Misha from trying to get rid of her.
So yeah, Tsubame is a total lolicon, but it’s worth mentioning that her attraction is not actually sexual. Not does she understand that her behavior is creepy as hell. While everyone around her is disgusted by the way she acts around Misha (and any other cute little girl), Tsubame is too busy taking care that nothing happens to Misha, even making sure no predators come near her. Ironic, I know.
All in all, this show is pretty funny but can be pretty sweet at times. While Tsubame is relentlessly annoying she does manage to bring Misha out of her shell, get her back into school and help her make friends.

Gamers! (Series rating: 8/10)

What do you do when you, a loner obsessed with games, get asked to join the video game club by the most beautiful girl in your high school? Do you:
a) Immediately accept and bless your lucky stars
b) Consider accepting while being weary that this might not be legit
c) Seemingly refuse her because you weren’t really paying attention to what he was saying
d) Genuflect.
If you answered c) you’d be right at home in Gamers!. This series of a misunderstanding-based comedy. Everyone will get the wrong idea about everything. Period. Throw in some cute girls, some surprisingly sweet moments and lots of game-related humor and cameos, and you have a very enjoyable show.

Goblin Slayer (Series rating: 9/10)

You know how in fantasy stories the party is led by the Legendary Hero Of Bullshit carrying the Mystical Sword Of Deus Ex Machina (shout out to HBI2K)? Yeah, not this show. Our hero, Goblin Slayer, slays only goblins. That’s pretty much it, as a story. I jest, but it does make for a somewhat refreshing show because he isn’t some OP knight, or some chosen magician. He’s just a regular guy who hates goblins. A lot. Like, he can hardly remember the names of other hostile creatures. If you’re not a goblin he’s just not interested. But this is a good thing, in this world. Goblin slaying is seen a low level job so skilled adventurers don’t really go for it. Those that do are novice adventurers that… uhm… get slaughtered, if they’re lucky. This leaves the goblins to kidnap, rape and multiply to their dark hearts content. If it weren’t for GS, many villages would be gone by now. He’s joined by his new “protegee”, Priestess, who starts off as a naive girl who just wants to help people. After traveling with GS for a while she “gets used to it”. You’ll know what I mean.
While I did enjoy the anime a GREAT lot, I hate to say that the part I loved most about it was the absolute western “outrage” about the first episode. That was so funny. Shout out to ANN in particular for that one. I hope you all enjoy this fantastic dark anime and remember “Goblin Slayer will return”.

Akkun To Kanojo (Series rating: 8/10)

Kagari Atsuhiro trets his girlfriend, Katagiri Non, like crap. He calls her names, ignores her, won’t show her affection. But she still loves him. Why? Because A-kun is the ultimate tsundere and Non can translate his words into what he actually means. She even has a chart that displays how many days he will ignore her for after he goes dere and show affection. A-kun loves Non so much he can’t even walk alongside her without completely freaking out about how lovely she is. Join this stupid could as they go along their high school lives.
Love this. It was adorable. The two beta couples were adorable as well. Really nice for a short.
