DeleteIt was a slight modification to a handful of lines, so probably best not to blow things out of proportion.
Yeah, there were a few fixes, some of them important in episode 2.

ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that never found this show remotely funny? Then again I don't find most comedy series to be really funny, too much is lost in translation for them to be effective.

DeleteHi, thanks for encoding this. But I see some visual stuttering around 18:33 on episode 2 (especially noticeable on the transition to the next scene). Is this in the source? If not, could you please reencode ep2? I haven't checked the other episodes.

It's pretty obvious that the FFF release is cropped in order to remove the ringing present around the edge of the frame (it's especially easy to see all the way down the right hand side of your encode in the fourth comparison). I wouldn't call it overcropping at all - seems pretty valid.
ReplyDeleteUltimately though it's up to you how you choose to spend (or waste) your time.
An it's up to you to decide if that ringing is worth cutting off bits of animation. To me, it isn't.
DeleteI thought that there was a filter that could take care of the discolored edges... At least, I know THORA managed to get rid of them for their release of Sakamichi no Apollon.

Yeah, I'll take cropped video over subs checked by a guy who doesn't know differences of words "then" and "than" any day.

ReplyDeleteIf you are talking about my encode, you have to zoom in at about 300% right on the edge and stick your face right in front of the screen to notice the problem.
