Rinne No Lagrange (BD, 720p) (Rating: 6/10)

PATCH FOR S5 BELOW. And season 1's done. I won't be doing the season 2 episodes because quite frankly, this show bored me. It had a good premise, but wasted it. The only fun parts were when Lan was on screen, because she's just so adorable. I will be doing the specials though. As for S2, get Coalgirls. Same subs, same quality, same size.

    1. The project is stalled indefinitely. As in, until I feel like working on it. And I probably won't be with Doki anyway. I've gone rouge.

    2. DmonHiro's name is now Rin, evidently:

  2. Thank goodness!
    Someone else doing this series!
I was dreading I'd have to grab Tenshi's (of Coalgirls) encode.

    1. Well yeah... so was I. If anyone else from CG was doing it, I would have bothered. Don't know if anyone else was planning on doing this, but I didn't get to watch it as it aired, so I can watch it as I release it.

I'm sorry, that was a terrible joke.

    1. Actually, if I remember correctly, you suggested Commie subs. And I answered with an incredibly stupid retort that I deleted as soon as I was sober.

  5. Is this also a 10bit release? Because there is no *10bit* at the Filename.

  6. Whats with the font, it looks different than Underwater's release

    1. It's the same font that Underwater used.

  7. DmonHiro did you make any changes to Underwater's script?!

Or did you leave it untouched?!

    1. I think there were like 2 lines I changed because I though they were too long and there wasn't enough time to read them.

  8. Thanks for using Underwater subs - Commie subs are horrible for this show (well everything they did this season is rather bad)

    1. Their Symphogear and Persona 4 were vrey good, actually. Their Inu X Boku was decent, but their Shana was pretty bad.

  9. Dmon, what are the chances of that extra from volume 1 to be translated?
Or maybe somebody could provide a summary of what it about?

    1. Have I ever released something without the specials?
Come now, give me SOME credit, of course it will be translated.

    1. The rumors of this show's low compressibility were not exaggerated.
It's most likely the OP that kills it, but I don't like doing ordered chapters, so it's the best you'll get out of me.

      Delete
    2. That's not bad compared to CG which is 805mb and 722mb

      Delete
    3. Yeah, I had the same surprise with Shana III Episode 12 BDrip, 527 MB with my usual settings, where other episodes are 205-375 MB (don't ask, they only have French subs)

  11. Can you change the MIME-typ from "application/vnd.ms-opentype" to "application/x-truetype-font" for .otf-fonts if you are using mkvtoolnix 5.4.0, because haali media splitter doesn't support "vnd.ms-opentype"?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I, honest to God, have no idea what you just said.

      Delete
    2. Sry, I thought you know what you do :-). If you add fonts in mkvtoolnix then it you look like this:
      http://www.firegoon.com/images/h1anj3z.jpg

I asked to change this because for .otf-fonts it's like this:
      http://www.firegoon.com/images/54tmp1y.jpg

And the reason is because haali doesn't know "application/vnd.ms-opentype" and doesn't load the fonts.
I hope that you understand me now.

    3. Then just demux the fonts yourself and install them into windows. I'm not going to go and individually change the type of each font.

      Delete
    4. Or you install an older version of mkvtoolnix like 4.9.1. Then you need to change nothing.

      Delete
    5. Lol, I'm still using 3.2.0 ;D

      Delete
  12. Old versions of mkvmerge (less then 5.1) sometimes cause AC3 streams to report wrong number of channels. I'm not switching back to an older version. Either install the fonts in Windows, stop using Haali, or download another release.

    1. You just need max. 30 seconds more before muxing because you don't need to change it for .ttf-fonts. Anyway thanks for the answer and I understand that you will not change it.

      Delete
    2. Ahh, I misunderstood. Yeah, now I get it. You meant to change the setting in mkvmerge, not the type of font. Yeah, that's not a problem. I think I can patch it, though I need to check first.

    3. You're right. Thanks.

  13. Is there any way to handle that not-quite but looks like chromatic abberation thing? Looks even worse in the source and 1080p but still noticably present in the 720p. I know it's most likely intentional from the studio, but it just looks so horrible sometimes :(

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have no idea what you are talking about. Also, since it's present on the source I wouldn't change it anyway. Plus, I don't see it, whatever it is.

  14. 720p; no preference for bit depth or audio codec.

    2. Indeed, they did. Can you post it to different site? Or repost it with an innocuous name inside a RAR file. They probably scan for anime show names.

I will make sure to seed at least twice the amount I downloaded...

Also, what is changed in the v2 patch? If anything major (to the script), please re-upload it somewhere (to dropbox for example, always a safe place :))

    2. The v2 was identical to the v1 except the fonts were all marked as truetype. If you don't know what that means, it means you don't have to worry about it.

  23. Thanks for all your effort on this show! Just an FYI for when/if you decide to batch the specials, Rinne No Lagrange S3 at 00:12 the word 'cleaning' is misspelled.

  24. The fifth special looks like shit and also at 1:06 >your.

    1. You'll have to define "looks like shit" a little better.

    2. The font looks bigger than the previous four releases.
      I'm using xy-vsfilters fyi.

    4. Yes. MPCHC, LAV, madVR, haali and xy-vs.

  26. will there be a batch torrent?

    Replies
    1. If you plan to include the episode 1v2 in the batch because of the opentype thing, then fyi the special 5 has the same issue.

    2. Damn it, I thought it was EPISODE 5 with that problem. I'll make a patch for special 5.

  30. Congratulations on finishing the series! Looking forward to the batch with 1v2 and special 5v2 (for the font mime-type issues created by mkvmerge).

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks for the releases! I just have to say, S1 without S2 might've been a bit, well,
not exactly actionfilled. With S2 however, it became what it was, rather good overall.
