  1. Any reason why it says the file is 46 minutes long?

    2. No idea. I don't use VLC, since it's terrible. Everything works fine using MPC-HC.

    5. Looks like mkvmerge created the correct duration amount but the 46m one is part of the original video tag. mkvmerge probably should have detected that the tag existed and replaced it.

  2. Same with Kodi, mplayer, MplayerX. But, yes, works great in MPC-HC.

  4. It's anything ffmpeg based that shows the 46 minute duration, which is practically anything other then the working player/codec/splitter.

  6. It seems like it's the audio that's too long. When you extract the separate streams, audio is humongously big and 46 min long. Simplest way I found to fix this is to first use avidemux 2.6, open the file and just save it again as an mkv. It then crops the audio to the video length (I guess...). I then used mkvcleaver (windows prog) to extract the subtitle track and the attached fonts, and added them to the file created by avidemux with mkvtoolnix. You end up with a file about half the size of the original. The extracted audio files are about 75 MB each, the cropped 8 MB.
